Private Lecturer Dr. iur. Oliver Raabe is
head of the research group Information Law for Technical Systems and Legal
Informatics (Compliance) at the Center for Applied Law (ZAR).
Since 2008, he has been a member of the
KIT’s department “Mensch und Technik” (Human and Technology). Dr. Raabe is a
recognized expert in IT security, data protection and evidence law,
particularly due to his many years of experience in regulatory advisory
services.
From 2012 to 2013, he headed the Working
Group on Data Protection of the Legal Framework, ICT for Electric Mobility II
and the BMWi. He is currently head of the Legal Framework Division within the
framework of the Smart-Data Accompanying Research Division and is involved in
the CCEN CEN CENELEC ETSI – Smart Grid Coordination Group “Smart Grid
Information Security, Data Protection and Privacy” (used by the EU Commission
within the scope of the mandate M/490).
Since 2011, he has been a member of the
“Data” section of the D-A-CH Smart Grid Taskforce. His main areas of research
are telecommunications, energy industry, data protection, legal informatics and
IT security law.
